Stash Media Recognizes Animwood Studio’s Hand-Drawn Editorial GIFs

So busy that recognitions passed us by?

We were so busy in late 2025 that we totally missed our first, great recognition by Stash Media Inc. for Animwood Studio .

We’re very happy to finally share it - and even happier that our Editorial GIFs, a handcrafted collection of minimalist animated illustrations, have recently received recognition.

The project is particularly meaningful to us because it represents something we’ve increasingly been looking for in animation: work that feels human, imperfect, tactile and handmade, rather than overly polished or visually homogenized.

Recently, we received one more from Stash for Acumen’s Journey of a Dollar, which hopefully will help with a lot of impressions for the wonderful folks at this non-profit organization.

For a couple of years, we had the idea of creating a dedicated set of Editorial-style illustrations and turning them into a simple, minimalistic, warm animated GIFs with a retro feel. Think - New Yorker or polish Przekroj magazine in terms of inked out, simplified style.

Last year, we finally launched it with a hand-crafted, hand-drawn set of illustrations, focusing on fully embracing what makes us human - our imperfections.

And well, yup, we at the moments feel that everything that we are craving for in the animation industry and productions is to go as far from the polished-out visuals as possible - which turns out to be one of our differentiators in the universe of AI homogenic work.
