What if the Great Book of Sports could open a door to a whole new world?
That is exactly what happens to Lila, a young girl determined to master every sport. Together with her friends Julek and Twinkle, she discovers Sportsville - a mysterious town inhabited by mythical creatures called Beboks, where every new challenge becomes part of a bigger adventure.
Sportsville is an upcoming 2D animated series for preschool and children aged 5-8.
Development funding from the Polish Film Institute
Sportsville, working title Miasteczko Sporteczko, has received development funding from the Polish Film Institute (PISF) in 2026.
The series is conceived and written by Rafał Blecharz, Creative Producer at Animwood.
Sportsville represents an important step for Animwood as an original, non-adapted universe developed by the studio.
The project is currently in early writing and development, with interest from broadcasters and streaming platforms. The project was selected for Young Horizons Industry 2026, the international co-production forum for projects aimed at young audiences.
Looking for European co-production partners
Animwood is now looking for European co-producers and international production partners to develop Sportsville further and bring the series to international audiences.
Young Horizons Industry is specifically built around international development and co-production, making it a natural meeting point for producers looking for new animated projects and partners. Sportsville is part of the 2026 official selection alongside other international animation and children's projects.
Animwood will also be present alongside other Polish animation studios as part of the Spotlight on Polish Animation at Young Horizons Industry, which includes opportunities for one-to-one co-production meetings.
From animated series to documentary animation
Sportsville is being developed alongside Animwood's wider production work across animated series, films, documentaries and commercial animation.
The studio's portfolio includes The God's Story animated series, which gave Animwood experience in developing character-driven children's animation and longer-form storytelling. The studio has also worked on documentary projects such as DODA – Animated Documentary, produced for Amazon Prime Video.

Sportsville is now entering an important stage: developing the series, building international partnerships and finding the right European co-producers to help bring the project to a wider audience.
