Our showreel is a dynamic showcase of our best animation work - from vibrant 2D and 3D animations to engaging characters, cinematic visuals, and compelling storytelling. This year, we created a fully hand-drawn animated intro as our studio manifesto, playfully parodying the beloved A-Team TV series from the '80s.

Idea
Our animated intro reimagines the classic A-Team opening. This time, the
"A" stands for Animwood.
Set in the golden era of Hollywood’s black-and-white films, the story follows our team of creative heroes as they take on snake-like totalitarian villains determined to drain the world of color and imagination. Armed with artistic spirit, they set out on a mission to restore fun, beauty, and creative freedom.
Character Design
Starting with the script and development, we focused on worldbuilding. Each character embodies a unique superpower tied to a vital role in an animation studio, reflecting their craft.
The Designator shapes reality, Illustrine brings drawings to life, and the motion artist, Dr. Effects, bends time itself. Meanwhile, Art Mentor is the mastermind behind their actions.
Development
To highlight the story’s themes, we chose a simple color coding. Pink, inspired by Animwood’s branding, symbolizes creativity, while the enemies — rigid, totalitarian monsters — are depicted with cyan-toned skin to emphasize their opposing nature.
Making Of
For animation we used traditional 2D techniques, with Animate, Toon Boom, and Blender as our primary tools. Cel animation gave us the flexibility to incorporate dynamic camera work, fluid movements, and seamless transitions.
